Linus was always so steadfast in his beliefs, that I can’t believe he’d cave. He will forever be on that school stage, illuminated by a small spotlight, reminding all who believe (and even those, like me, who do not) of the ideals of Christmas: “Peace on Earth, goodwill towards men.” Maybe the characters shown here are Charlie Jr. and Linus Jr., products of the 21st century who can’t understand what all the fuss was about in that ancient cartoon that their parents starred in.

Charles Schultz was serious about not adding a laugh track to the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon, the audience doesn’t need to be cued when to laugh.
