Best Jailbirds yet, 6/ Number 3, love the new av, makes you look mature and mysterious/ Today’s strip could have been good, but, the execution ruined it… it’s too obvious that Chalkie and Andy weren’t listening ( they telegraphed the punchline again); i’m just an amateur cartoonist, but, even I know that this would have worked a LOT better if Andy and Chalkie had looked as if they were listening intently, THEN let it be known that they weren’t! (Had they done it that way, it would be a 7, but, telegraphing the joke makes it a 4.5/10!)
Thank you for the special recognition you gave to me today regarding The Jailbirds !
It’s always a jolt to see it all put together and so much smaller. When I’m working on it, it’s magnified so much, a nose, mouth and ear might take the whole screen.
Even with all the technical difficulties I encountered with this one, it’s always a pleasure to work on one of your strips! The color makes your fine artwork really stand out!
I wish the current team would give the readers credit for having a bit of intellect. Every joke (I should put quotes around that……) is just pounded at you. Almost every episode will have somebody looking at the reader (which can be an effective technique, but not the way these hacks do it!) Look at the difference between Linda’s classic and this one with Chalkie looking at us for no discernable reason. The timing is frequently off, too. Too many panels on Sundays, and sometimes a needed panel isn’t there for weekdays. Oh, well, we get the classics, and we get “Jailbirds”, so it’s always well worth reading the comments. Just depressingly rare for the new episode to be worth it…….
Shocking, or maybe just a tingle.-There were six teams. Michael’s team won. Laur sez they play the game at work. That job must be a picnic !-Badminton: the gentler kinder tennis. You don’t have to chase it very far when your opponent slams it.-I “Peppered” only because the Cokes went pretty quick. I have taken the flavored fizzy waters and mixed in a small amount of a soft drink so as to have a lower sugar content and yet retain a flavor. -Thank you for your compliment re our mall shots. The mall surfaces are hard and slick. Those places may look good but I feel them devoid of a soul. I see N-G other places too. He said the site wont recognize the website that he comes in from. Not sure what that means but the Goat always recognizes my entry from Yahoo via Firefox. -“au natural”… Why does that phrase always get my motor runnin’ !? -My screen is fortified with heavily reinforced concrete !-I expect to be on tonight and then not again until tomorrow night. -Thanks and Good Day._________________________________________________
Well done to Mike’s team!-When I got the hang of Badminton, I loved playing it. But I hate tennis. I was always scared of getting hit by the ball. -I used to drink Pepsi at night and the caffeine kept me awake until 2 or 3 in the morning. I’m not doing that again. It’s unhealthy.-You’re welcome for the compliments. Night-Gaunt has replied to me a few times. Once when I was about to turn 18… I was talking to somebody and we were discussing our ages and I said that I feel old and Night-Gaunt said to me “You don’t know old yet. Read about astronomy and the universe… Now THAT’s old!” I’m not sure if those were his exact words but I just remembered from the top of my head.-He’s right though.-I hope you have a safe journey home!-Happy Monday to you… Or is there a such thing as a ‘Happy Monday’?
Folks, if you are in the U.S., you are probably aware of the tornado’s that ripped through the mid-west. If you can, please donate to the Red Cross to aid the victims who have lost everything, and if you are close enough, please consider going there with blankets, water, and food and any clothing that you can spare, especially coats and sweaters. (its cold now, and when everything you own is gone, a coat is a major necessity) In Washington Illinois, houses were demolished, twisted cars sit on top of debris that is all that is left of peoples homes, churches and places of business. There have been lives lost, families destroyed and destruction everywhere. If you are in these areas, please know that people care, aid is on its way, and prayers are being offered. Our church has already sent one truck, and another leaves this afternoon.
Unforgettable…thats what you are….unforgettable…so near, so far….lol…its easy to lose our Andy in my flurry of posts…bet Florrie wishes it were that easy to do!!
my church has its second truck full and is leaving right after rush hour…rush hour in Old Town Chicago is horrendous, I dont blame the driver a bit for waiting!!

Speaking of dominoes: I like this one from about a year ago. Again MG&G used 6 panels when 3 would have done.
