Don’t be a hypocrite, Cuco.

This day does not mark the conquest of native Americans. Columbus Day is a horrible day to celebrate, but most cultures have some form of a day to give thanks for the harvest or the bounty they enjoy. The whole pilgrim story is an overlay with a lot of inaccuracy wrapped around it, but even it has nothing to do with conquest. Lalo, you can, with a clear conscience, leave Thanksgiving alone.

Funny, a cartoonist with a Spanish name complaining about the conquest of native Americans. What’s next self-flagellation?

The weak will always be conquered by the strong. Only in modern times has man gotten fat enough to wail away about the poor poor defeated. Give me a break.

Mexicans have Native American heritage , also. The darker-skinned ones have Indian blood, the fairer-skinned ones, more Spanish. They are called Mestizos. Get your facts straight, Olongapojoe.

Columbus was a man of his time. Judging a man’s behavior from 500 years distance is foolish. We’d be better off working together to fix our current problems without dwelling on the ancient past.

I agree. All the recriminations do not educate children or teach self respect.

Actually, all the liberal comments are positive and forward-thinking. It appears all the cons are miserable, unhappy and upset. But you know that. Happy Thanksgiving!
