Kate: Hey...Lucy tells me you like Kyle. Danae: Yeah, kinda. Kate: Well, he can't be your boyfriend. Danae: Why not? Kate: Because he's going to be my boyfriend! Danae: Wait...going to be? Kate: Yes...just as soon as I decide to tell him he is. So hands off, sister, capice? Danae: Sometimes you really frighten me, Kate... Kate: A good thing to always keep in mind.

It’s always the quiet ones who are the most dangerous.
Ida No about 11 years ago
Danae’s the one mostly likely to do something dangerous. Kate the most likely one to follow through on a threat.

No failure to communi-Kate there….! I love Kate’s quiet confidence…Just as soon as I decide to tell him he is…gotta love it….

“Capice” ? Sounds like Kate is reading The Godfather, and it’s giving her ideas.

I don’t recall references of Kate talking with Lucy before.

Oh Danae, what happened? Is it assessment time? At your age do you really need a boy friend or a little sister?
YatInExile about 11 years ago
Danae has met her match. I’m waiting to see where this goes.

Love the strip. I have to weigh in in defense of the Italian language, though. In warning her sister to keep her hands off her future boyfriend, Kate would ask Danae, “Capisci?” second person singular of the verb “capire”, “to understand.”
Calvins Brother about 11 years ago
Kate just told her where the bear pooped in regard to whos the boss there.

I wouldn’t trust Kate with a knife. After all, look how cleanly she split that infinitive….
Nightlasher about 11 years ago
Kate’s always shown slight signs of sadism in regard to her interactions with Danae. I always hoped we’d get this kind of storyline.

Lessons for a lifetime. Maybe Calvin should tryit out on Moe, might work once, anyway.

Nice. Danae rarely gets her comeuppance.

Now we find out what Kate has learned through the years of quietly observing Danae……Good one!

Katherine the Great.
Love today’s strip. It’s not the growing dog in front of you to be more afraid, but the quiet one walking up behind you.

It’s Kyle who really has my sympathy, since his prospective(?) girlfriend apparently has no intention of giving him any say in the matter.

There are times that splitting an infinitive is, to me at least, more emphatic.“To not go” is more impressive than “not to go.” If you MUST NOT go means more than it’s okay not to go.
