Ahoy Ballardeers The ole Capt. is back ( sorta ), and standing a couple of rounds at the Tiki, later today. Everyone is welcome.I’ve been navigating the uncertain seas of bureaucracy with the waves of paperwork ready to swamp me at any moment. My motto: “It’s Never Easy” has certainly been proved true, recently. One single document ( which is costing me a small fortune ) now has to be sent back to Florida, so that a fancy gold sticker can be attached to it, either by the Fla. Secy. of State or the Ecuadoran Consulate in Miami. Problem is, I don’t know anyone in Tallahassee and no longer have contacts in Miami and I’m damned if I’m going to fly back just to get a paper apostilled.Between that and having changed home ports down here, adjusting to the new digs, and trying to get my First Mate’s sometimes tempermental Wi-Fi to cooperate, I haven’t been around to comment much, or have my usual libations at the Tiki. But I am keeping up with all the goings on, as much as possible. I hope that once the winds of change calm down, it will be smooth sailing, ahead.See you all later at the Tiki and FREE DRY !
How did they get a photo of me at my office when I arrived this morning just before they opened the doors?Office has been closed since Wednesday last week. Waiting line went around the building….at 7am.
@Ling,I sorta know what you’re going through. I helped many of my Xhusband’s family with the paperwork for their immigration back in the 50s and 60s. and I HATE paperwork of that nature. I’m not sure which took more time, THAT, or the paperwork for scholarships for my children’s colleges. None involved my traveling, thank heavens, as I generally got very little vacation time from work.
Maybe someone here has family in Miami; will they just have to stand in line to present paperwork? The only folks I know in Florida now are some of X’s brothers families (and I no longer communicate).

Marshall hasn’t enjoyed being a corporate head.
He’s apparently trying to start over…. at the bottom…. I guess he’s not willing to just sit around on his assets.
