most of the songs in the supermarkets I shop has music too new for me. I may have heard a few songs by jewel or Mariah carey among them, but I get lost on anything more recent than 1990.
Depends on which program they’re running. Right now it’s all Xmas music but there have been days when they run a “Country” list and I know nothing (nothing!) from the recent Country playlists. Eddy Arnold, Ray Price (bless you, sir) all that era I’d have a chance with. The new stuff sounds like second-line Rock to me.

So true, at least at the three markets that I frequent.

When Mary Hopkin(?) released that song they didn’t play it in the supermarket.

I often know the songs they play at Trader Joe’s. Apparently the employees rotate who selects the music.

This was one of my favorite Limelighters’ songs – good to hear again, even if it isn’t ‘hi-fi’…

I prefer bagpipes, classical and music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. After that, forget it; unless it’s Neil Diamond.
