I agree. I was a waitress for 2 years in a Marriott Courtyard hotel restaurant (i.e. not an upscale restaurant where the tips were good). I still managed to pay my own rent, car, food, clothes, fun, etc. and I saved $10,000 so that I bought my own house when I got a better job. Granted, I didn’t have any kids, but I did spend extra money on having fun that I wouldn’t have if I had kids.
