Man 1: I found a great store. It's for men who've been sent to get groceries. Man 2: Yeah? Man 1: It's called "man mart." They have guides who take you up and down the aisles, decipher your list, and help you find things like "prosciutto." Man 2: What's "proscuitto?" Man 1: Exactly.

Is this “Man Mart” an extension of the “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” concept? I doubt that the average American housewife even knows what prosciutto is.

The store is for the husbands of princesses.

I don’t know why some of the major chains couldn’t come up with an app for your smart phone to tell you where to look. Answer? They don’t want you to know. Hope you’ll wander all through the store and as you see more stuff, you’ll buy more stuff. A big Texas chain even rearranges things in the store regularly to make sure you’ll regularly have to learn new routes through the store.

RootsinDM has it exactly right. They don’t want you to know where everything is. A store that I go to once or twice a month recently re-arranged the whole store, just after I had learned where everything I buy was located. And prosciutto is a very salty Italian ham.

I hate it when pizza is covered with paper thin prosciutto

I worked in a grocery store, you do get guys all the time who hand you their list and go “what is this” or “what do you think she meant?” It’s always amusing. The best one, though, was when a guy was in front of the milk on his cellphone and he said “What kind of milk do we drink?” How do you not know that? lol!

The exact opposite in my house. My boyfriend knows all the odd stuff and eats prosciutto. It helps that his first job was at a King Soopers (Krogers).
