Wally: Why is the pet gate up?? I can't get into the living room! How am I supposed to chew up the ornaments, jump all over the gifts and tear off the wrapping paper? This is supposed to be the hap - happiest time of the year!
They haven’t made a pet gate that my 105-lb. Golden Retriever couldn’t defeat. If cleverness and wiles didn’t work, there was always brute force – and the resulting damage to the surrounding woodwork.
I had a dog was so smart that I never need a pet gate. If I did not want him to go in a room. I just told him. He may hang around at the door but never crossed it.
My dachshund hates to walk on a smooth surface. She will if she has to but only to get a treat or to go outside. We have area rugs and runners down on the floor for her. If someone knocks on the door she barks like crazy-but from under a blanket where she is hiding. In other words she is just like Wally. I’m sure Kevin must have dachshunds of his own.

Oogy can get over that with one leap, and cats are a much greater threat to trees and presents than a dog!

We had a gate for our first two dackels. They chewed through the mesh the first time we used it.

My husband I put a pet gate up when we painted our living room. Our cats were kittens and climbed up and over.

If the dog can jump over the gifts, it could jump over the fence.
