The only thing that would protect all animals and birds from human harm is removing all humans. I think, even though I really like animals and birds, I just won’t support that extreme. So, you pick the viable solution that causes the least harm compared to all the rest and quit moaning about it. Get busy and find an honestly better choice. Kill a few birds with spinning blades, kill a lot of birds (and anything else that breathes) with heavy air pollution. There isn’t a viable 3d choice.

Yes, I know there are still some bugs to be worked out, but we could be gagging in coal smoke and drink water contaminated by fracking.

They probably could put a cage around the blades, but that would cut into the profits, so it probably won’t be done.
