    NO, HE WASN’T. He was born in a stable and LAID in a manger (Luke 2:7). A manger then was a stone feeding trough for animals and would have been a very tight fit for Mary. Another of the false ideas which have been propagated about Bible events because “MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.” (Hosea 4:6)

    @RadarRecon

    So that would make:

    Merry Christmas from Yahweh & Asherah (aka Mr and Mrs God) improper because that minor detail has been left out of the church selected scripts that make up the Bible then?

    Talk about “lack of knowledge”.

    You’re absolutely right. This is one of the holiest days of the year – to sun worshipers. The sun god was (re)born on this day in many of the ancient religions. IF you’re interested in the TRUTH, the date of his birth CAN be ascertained from the Bible. But most Christians are more interested in the comfort of tradition than in learning the truth. Therefore, Hosea 4:6.

    I believe the bible about the birth of JESUS, and it was GOD that said it would happen. I wish that all people could get along on everything , this world would be better if they would. Merry Christmas everybody

    So it says in your Bible but that is the whole point. The scriptures included by the church leave out the wife status originally attributed to her. That would not be in line with the message the church wants to send now would it.

    What better information to include then the “abomination and severely condemned” portion. Remember that history is written by the winners. Christianity was originally practiced by women and slaves. The church took it over and made men important and to this day women are second class citizens.

    That is also why the Church has a become a grand, larger then life institution. You are not encouraged to practice the religion in your home either. Attend church or you are not truly a member of the faith.

    In the fourth century Pope Julius is credited with splitting the birth of Jesus into two distinct celebrations: Epiphany stayed on the traditional date, and Nativity was added on 25 December. The 25th of December was an effort to take control of the Roman Saturnalia celebration, a hedonistic time.

    Again – Talk about “lack of knowledge”.
