My friends think I’m crazy because I still prefer my old 35mm SRL Canon A1 – it has an override where I can manually adjust the F-stops, etc.¨- to my new Canon EOS6D digital which does everthing but whistle Dixie !Most of my smart phones have been pretty stupid ! Aside from an occassional text, I use my phone strictly for calling people or receiving calls. I use my Samsung Tablet for everything else ,- including reading GoComics.
You right but a smart phone or a tablet can’t replicate the emotion, drama, and mood of a B&W shot – even though my ( now 18 year old ) grandson wouldn’t watch old movies in B&W because he thought they were "for fake " !Besides you can’t shoot ( a pix ) of a condor in the Andes or a snow leopard in the Himalayas with a smart phone !

I know why they call them ‘Smartphones—to prove and dumb and stupid I really am. I can’t even turn on my granddaughter’s phone.

My SMARTER-THAN-ME phone has been a wonderful aide when we travel. I just wish it wasn’t SMARTER-THAN-ME!

I don’t have a smart phone – and the one I have I bought about 3 years ago with no plans of replacing it any time soon.
