I know that Elly is in Canada, but it’s good that she wasn’t dealing with a polar vortex, as we were earlier this week. It’s 28 here now – feels downright balmy!
Gokie5: The polar vortex covers almost all of Canada east of the Rockies. Today’s prediction is: Vancouver 39 and 28, while Winnipeg on the other side of the mountains is -10 and -35, both translated into °F.
Thank goodness my dog isn’t a runner, but if she were, I wouldn’t care how cold and blustery it was . . . I’d be out there searching the neighborhood for my lost baby until I found her!!!!! :-(
USN1977: Learn the difference between weather and climate. Weather is what happens over a day or week; climate is what happens over a decade. We (North America) are currently getting about a fifth of record-breaking minimum temperatures we would get in the 1990s; but most of the record-breaking highs have been set in the last decade. Meanwhile, a million “flying fox” fruit bats have died from the heat in Queensland. Everything is not centered on you.
