Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for December 20, 2013
December 19, 2013
December 21, 2013
Transcript:
Marigold: Why do you have an ornament depicting a unicorn with a large bulbous nose? Phoebe: That's your reflection, silly. Marigold: Now you are mocking me, sparkle tree. Phoebe: Rar! I am the mighty bignose.
Oh DEAR, Marigold has gotten another view of herself! Poor unicorn! Poor TREE! First the audacity to sparkle and now a clearly malicious distortion of unicorn perfection. TOO MUCH!
I hope we’re going to see Marigold outsparkling the tree on Sunday — full glorious unicorn color of Marigold, triumphant over the uppity, sparkling, malicious tree.
There’s the mirror test in general, and there’s the Mirror Test. In the Mirror Test, you put a mark on the subject’s face, and look to see if it reacts to the mark. Only a very few species pass that. A larger group, including some dogs and some cats, can say, “Oh! There goes the red ball behind me!”.

Scientific fact, Unicorns can’t recognize its reflex if this is distortioned.
