Grilled is good too, and I didn’t like Snappy Sticks for my first 44 years.

I love asparagus any way, anytime! Try tossing it with olive oil and lemon juice or balsamic then grilling it.

Asperagus shouldn’t snap when served. It should be fork tender but without a hint of mushyness. It should be served hot, thoroughly covered with real butter and a dash of salt. Broccoli should be cooked and served the same way. I am 67 and have loved asperagus since childhood. I also enjoy broccoli. Dislike of these vegetables is probably due to improper cooking or lack of sufficient real butter.

I like to saute asparagus in a bit of olive oil, with fresh garlic, and some red bell peppers. Then toss with some fresh gated parmagiano and s few pine nuts. OMG good!

I conned my children into liking cauliflower and broccoli by cutting them into florets (the veg not the kids) and calling them trees.“Eat your green trees and your white trees” Actually worked.

There’s a huge difference between vegans and vegetarians. Vegetarians eat eggs and cheese, while vegans don’t. And there are a lot more vegetables than there are meats, so no you don’t have the eat your broccoli, George.

Snappy sticks are great, when they’re snappy. When they’re overdone and limp like mom cooked them, well…

Rub them with oil, salt and pepper and throw them on a HOT grill for 5 minutes, turning once. Heaven. Green, pointy heaven

You could try saying it backwards, which is “sugarapsa”, but the “p” gets in the way.

Asparagus can make your urine smell but that’s not the reason I dislike it. I enjoy raw broccoli and cauliflower now and again. My hates as a kid were lambs’ brains, hearts, liver and kidneys……. I still won’t eat them and as for tomatoes, I just can’t taste them.

YES! White asperagus is great, learned about white in France — though do like green. :D
