Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for August 24, 2014
Transcript:
Dad: "Another day, another dollar..." Dad: "...Another irreplaceable chunk out of a finite and rapidly passing lifetime" Dad: "What a beautiful summer day....and I've got to spend it in an office. Brother" Dad: "It seems like I'm always rushing off and never taking the time to enjoy days like this" Dad: "I'd sure like to have a quiet day around the house. No traffic, no schedule, no phone calls...boy, that would be great. I could spend some time with Calvin, read a book, go on a bike ride...." Dad: "Maybe I should take the day off. The world wouldn't end if I didn't go into the office today. Days like this don't come often and life is short" Calvin: "Hi dad, bye dad" Mom: "AUGHH" Mom: "YOU GET BACK HERE AND PICK EVERY ONE OF THOSE DEAD BUGS OUT OF MY SHAMPOO!! I MEAN NOW!"

Take the day off but don’t spend it at home. Take that bike ride until you find a shade tree. Then, sit under it and read a book.

The world might not end if you do not go to office but YOUR WORLD will end if you stay at home

One plant I worked at had its very own employee village built right across the street. Courtesy of your favorite U.S. government. Complete with caste system and steam heat. Managers got two stories, peons one.
