I registered online. I found the same product I had discontinued due to cost, for almost $250 per month less. Not difficult at all.
One problem is that, for all the talk about government subsidies to help the less fortunate, that only applies in states which voted to expand Medicaid. If you live in a state that did not (that is, one where the legislature is controlled by Republicans), you cannot qualify for a subsidy, regardless of your economic circumstances.
Net result: more people uninsured due to cost, and therefore more unnecessary and costly visits to the emergency room. Saving money on the front end to lose it on the back end.
I’m still waiting for single payer, to get rid of this garbage once and for all.
