Rat is unaccustomed to having such a disruptive creature as Cartoon-Boy in the house. But getting stuck with a high water bill is perhaps incentive for him to get a steady, paying job!

Thanks, Susan, for reminding us of California’s drought. Maybe water-wastefulness is why Staci dumped Stephan, forcing him to sponge off of his cartoon characters—especially his alter ego, Rat.

I wish I were charged based on usage. There’s only one person in the house, and use only a fraction of the minimum charge (which is quite large.)

I agree Anonymous… Gotta be Cali. That’s the only state that has such lousy planning that they have a water shortage because minnows and some wild flower are more important than people.

Wait, is that Stephan Pastis or my “I need to take an hour long shower and then another half hour to dry off, brush my teeth, and do my hair in order to get ready for work,” sister disguised as Pastis? I think it’s my sister.
