back in the day my brother used to get albums (LPs!) of “Golden Oldies” that were at least a year old. Songs from last week were old news. This was a change from the 50s when pop songs might be high on ‘Your Hit Parade’ for months.

I’m thinking Mr. Spaetzle had probably never heard of the song. I’d be hard-pressed to name a song from the last five years.
