Frazz: Did you have a good Valentine's Day?
Student: No. I'm too young.
Frazz: Valentine's Day is for all ages.
Student: But those fancy-pants chocolates aren't for people who still have this many taste buds.
I think too flavorful. There were a lot of things I could not stand the taste of as a kid because of the heightened sense of smell or the increased sensitivity to bitterness: honey, cough drops, brussel sprouts, black liquorice/anise, etc. One thing I also hated was orange or raspberry plus chocolate. Now I love that combination.
Cooked spinach can be decent if you don’t just steam it plain, but saute it with half a ton of garlic and a little anchovy paste, and serve it with grated cheese. Of course, there will be people who say it’s not as good for you that way. That’s their problem.

Maybe he’s talking about those chocolate boxes comic Jim Gaffigan mentions – where you find the one filled with toothpaste.

He’d probably prefer some Chocolate Frogs… Of course, it’s the card you really want.

I got a box of alcohol-filled chocolates. I have to keep them out of my daughter’s reach.
