Question: My sister/law tripped stepping off a curb at a restaurant in Boise, ID. She thought nothing of it, but it hurt. It got worse and worse, and she finally went to see a doctor and it was a minor ankle break. She has insurance with a major carrier. Her claim was denied because…she never sued the restaurant to get money from them first. We had never heard such a thing before, but the ins company confirmed their decision in writing.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Might this type of thing explain why people try to sue anyone and everyone they can? Just askin’.

Insurance companies figured out a number of years ago that litigation is actually cheaper than paying out claims.

    choll–WTF?

I’ve had occasion to use the services of an attorney, and I’m thankful for that service! I have custody of my children today because of the skill of a good lawyer who helped avert a tragedy. And the Jew thing? You aren’t serious, are you?

    Tell me you aren’t serious.
