There is some truth in rarefaction’s statement (cat-food and dog-food are oft only packed differently but same contents).
Cats can oft “supply their deficiencies” on their own (very few cats stay inside all times except when taken out by “owner”–and during the time they’re outside they tend to sample some items that contain their needs; unfortunately, this oft includes sparrows/bluebirds/robins/…).
I haven’t seen it for a while, but we ussed to see the label “process cheese food” (rather than just processed cheese or whatever). So if cheese food is actually cheese, then is cat food actually … ?

Isn’t their food more or less the same?

its so supposed to be different. But my animals don’t care.

There’s a key amino difference that each animal really needs, so they should NOT be eating the same foods exclusively, if they cross over.

My dog loves cat food. He’s not so keen on dog food mind you, and the cat isn’t keen on either.

I always thought there was some dog meat in cat food and cat meat in dog food…you know, just for the fun of it.

When I was growing up, our dog, Spanky, ate only cat food and lived to be almost 20. So, it must be healthy!
