Reminds me of an incident in my childhood. I was up at a friend’s house playing outside on a really hot, humid day. He absentmindedly tossed a small pebble at his dad’s car. It hit the windshield, which instantly crystallized! Crystallized may be the wrong word here, but it didn’t shatter. It was still in windshield form, but with cracks all through it.
