No, they had spam and that only counts as meat if you’ve never had meat.

Who can afford spam? Figure the cost per pound you will find that you are better off in the meat department. At $1.00 per 5 oz can tuna is $3.20 per pound.

Spam. What a Treet!I really like Spam and it was my favorite Navy breakfast. Every year on August 13th – the day of my entry and exit from service – I cook up some diced Spam and scrambled eggs. Cholesterol be damned.I’ve done it for 45 years.

Go to Hawaii………………..it’s their coveted “meat” product. They even have a SPAM celebration….

There was a TV program of a Spam contest where you molded it into different forms..Cars, animals, etc..etc….The winner was a “Spam” castle..(don’t know if anyone ate it though)

it wasn’t called spam, it came in a plain can with “USDA surplus Luncheon Meat” in black letters on the outside. if you could afford store bought spam, you were not poor.
