The joke is that 97% of scientists who know anything about climate apparently suffer from the same “psychopathology.” The other three percent are probably employed by the oil and coal industry — remember the “Tobacco Institute”???

nope the 97% is from a failed study where out of over 10000 questionnaires sent out they got of those they got back they had to eliminate over 2500 there was further weeding out till they got down to less than 150 total responses and they foolishly published that in less than a month the paper was retracted and the people who published is have not been heard from since.

There are no planets remotely capable of supporting earth life forms within a distance that would allow the original inhabitants of the ship to ever reach them. It could be possible to build multigenerational ships that would allow their descendants to reach their destination in several thousand years. And, even if the planet is capable of supporting life, it is quite likely that it will have components that won’t allow our species to survive on it. Alternatively, it is also quite likely that if there are current residents they will blow it out of their sky.We better quit believing in science fiction that pictures earthings wandering from one habitable planet to another on each weekly episode and deal with the reality that we don’t have a back up planet. It we make this planet unable to support life, we die.

the authors of this strip don’t understand climate chage at all. It’s been stormier than usual lately, but Australia is having record highs. Back in the 50’s Snows were deeper and I remeber cold weather in May. The last really big snowstorms where I live were in ‘79 and ’86.Some people just can’t see the big picture.
