If being right is wrong, and he doesn’t want to be right, that means he will be wrong, and being wrong is wrong, which is also right, so if he says he doesn’t want to be right he technically has no choice

I believe that was a Barbara Mandrell country music song title.

“(If loving you is wrong) I don’t wanna be right "….great song, also covered by Percy Sledge and by (the BEST one!!) Luther Ingram. Francis’ frantic announcement is a play on the title……….Glee! GLEE!!

Good thing Francis isn’t a utilitarian, he’d think all facts and knowledge are transitory and walk into the ocean.

Ah…..
…..I think of the know-it-all boy on “The Polar Express” where Santa suggested that he exercise some humility.
Soapbox time.
There’s a difference between being smart (and being right) and being what I call a “brain bully”. Picking on someone because they are less educated or not as smart as you is just as cruel as picking on someone smaller or weaker than you.
Marvel Comics’ Stan Lee wondered aloud during an interview why intelligence isn’t respected, even in this day and age.
I have a theory – unless you are born to professional parents (doctor, lawyer, judge, military officer, business executive, etc.) teachers are the first professional “smart person” that children meet. If a teacher who exercises harsh discipline, grades papers in absolutes, plays favourites and has an overall unpleasant attitude and harbours little or no respect to her students – anyone can tell you that this is a petri dish for breeding hostile, festering attitudes.
No wonder most people find smart, educated and intelligent people intimidating.
Compare Severus Snape to Remus Lupin, and you will see clearly what I mean.
It’s not Francis’ fault (or Gina’s, for that matter) – they find their self-worth in being smart, resourceful and knowledgeable – which is a good thing, but if you express your intelligence in less than a humble manner…
…ah, the human condition.

Maybe this song would clear things up?

Why does Francis like facts? It’s not like they’re “fascinating”!
peanuts511 almost 11 years ago
he says that being right is wrong and so if he’s right he’s wrong and if he’s wrong he’s technically right since the opposite so in either way, he’s wrong!!
