Alex, maybe you could reboot your own hair first. You’ve had pretty much the same style since middle school.

Not sure we could tell her from Mike if she changed her hair…

So this means the reruns have already started… he knew weeks ago that he was gonna bail again. Sigh.

Are these Alex’s mom’s parents, or her dad’s?

GT’s mom died not long ago as well as the renewal of alpha house, meaning that the strip will be slowing down, but we will soon get to see more alpha house, which is partial great news.

Ok Astolat, thanks for the tip. I hope people continue to watch alpha house. It is very funny!

Joanie Caucus (Gram) is the mother of Alex’s mom, JJ…

but 2nd husband Rick is not the biological grandpa….that would be Joan’s first husband, Clinton.

JJ became Mike Doonesbury’s first wife…

But she left Alex with Mike, and ran off with the useless Zeke (“Uncle Stupidhead” to Alex).

Then Mike, Alex’s father, married Kim.

Mike’s parents lived on a farm.

Not confusing, right?

and with all that info, I’m sure I’ll ace the test!

According to the interview I read, I think in WaPo, GBT plans to continue cartooning for a long time – he alluded to younger cartoonists not liking that. But also indicated that local papers might find other strips and decide to keep them. At least there is GoComics….

It’s been a great 43 years! I, for one, will miss Alex, Toggle, and a baby/career arc that would have been fabulous. We will be treated to a lot of dear old story arcs and be spared any further news of the ultimate creepoid Jeff. May GT be blessed by the great Cosmos!

Here’s a little blurb on GT’s hiatus. He will probably do some more daily strips but it doesn’t look like it will ever be continuous again. Too bad. But it was a great read while it lasted – some 43 years.
