My cat has a giant bowl of food 24/7. He still screams for more, even right after I topped the bowl off to overflowing. The dogs insist their bowls be kept filled because the kibble must air for at least half a day before they deem it edible. However, if the kibble bag is left out where they can get to it, they will eat straight from the bag—the air out rule gets suspended.
OUTDATED REFERENCE ALERT!!OUTDATED REFERENCE ALERT!!.“that reminds me of Jack Benny’s basement vault”.this has been was an outdated reference.we now return you to your regular programing
We had trouble keeping the raccoons out of the cat food stored in the barn for the barn cats. Finally put it in an old locking freezer Coons can open any container, but they can’t pick a lock! (Yet!!)
Nice to read comments about eating habits of pet dogs and cats. My dog wants to eat on time. She knows when it is 7 AM and 5 PM. She hates old water, so I have to change her water every three hours, and more often in the summer. She passes by the water bowl and smells it only, when it is there too long, but as soon as I change it, she has a few licks. This dog gobbles her food in seconds. Our previous dog, would take out the kibble one by one from the bowl and eat it, then take out the next one. It used to take her sometimes 15 minutes or longer to eat the whole portion.
As our dog didn’t like dog food, we just fed her cat food. When the bag was open, and it wasn’t closed with a clamp or something, our cats would just stick their heads into the hole and start munching.
@nighthawks: Your comment maybe an oldie, but, look at how many people including me are responding to it.. Great idea! By the way Jack Benny and I have something in common. No, I’m not 39. We’re both born on Feb.14.
