I find it interesting that everyone thinks PI lawyers are the scum of the earth, that is until they actually need a PI lawyer. Then the story changes significantly. Just for context, remember that the Ford Pinto case was a PI matter. That said, is Tom a sleaze? Yes, and not even a classy one.

I wonder how he’ll justify his billable hours yakking to his Uncle Dale. Will he also charge his clients for an ‘expert consultation fee’ for having done so (along with charging them the mileage)?

Come on Tom drop him off…… His stomach is growling, can’t you hear it? Joy is eating all the HoHos and he wants some.

I wonder if Tom will represent Joy and Burl for their obesity ?He may get himself a lot of $$ (Oh I mean them) from eating all that junk they eat? After all it’s not their fault junk tastes good and makes you fat does it?

35 cents a mile, how old is this one? So my question is if he is billing a personal injury case, is he suing someone for Dale, otherwise why would it be a reimbursable trip with Dale on board. I can just imagine Tom thinking up all kinds of possible claims for his relatives as no one else probably goes to him.

Tom probably figures that since he was thinking about the case while driving that means he can write off the millage, and the fact that he mentioned the case just adds to his argument.
