You can watch TV for a half-hour. What? That's like nothing! M-o-o-o-m! And then I need you to spend a half-hour cleaning the kitchen. What? That's like forever! M-o-o-o-m!
When I was a foster kid, the parents I ended up with at age 10 made me clean the house top to bottom (as far as I could reach anyway) every. single. Saturday. until I left at 18. It took about 8 hours to clean, straighten, and dust 9 rooms. My biological sister did the other 9. God help us if we accidentally broke one of the many curios or missed a step in the process. Both of us look upon our old foster mother with gleeful pity when she complains on Facebook about the lack of help from the government after her fortunes have crumbled and age and the economy have wreaked havoc on her ability to earn a living.
time… thus explains why summers when we were little lasted forever while summers now, when we have to work – zip by way to quickly..Toby will never understand. .. At least not until he says the same thing to his own kids.
