First pre-season game, every player, on every team, shouts insults at everybody. After the first 3 hour first quarter, the league will listen to the networks and kill the rule.
How about someone explaining to me why āN-Wordā is more acceptable than āN_____ā. (I am quite capable of saying and spelling āthat wordā, but the censors would not allow the post if I actually did.) That some go into a meltdown upon hearing it ā in any context ā does not speak well of the person taking such undiscriminatory offense. I see such sensitivity as simply a way to exert a degree of power over others. Some people win by winning, others win by losing; this may be an example of the latter.
And only the English can mention āThe French Diseaseā whilst only the French can mention āThe English Diseaseā? (I refer, of course, to the common coldā¦..which, come to think of it, only commoners should be allowed to mention!)
Political correctness run amuck. There was a case recently where two African-Americans were involved on opposing sides. One of them had used the n word on the other. The one who it had been used on sued the other one for hate speech and tried to argue that since they were both African-American the word is meaningless. The court disagreed.
