Good morning, Vagabonds. As usual I enjoy reading the Sunday paper at 6 AM and finish reading most of it by 8 AM. I enjoyed reading “Curtis” (I had already seen it online, but I liked it so much,, I clipped it from the Sunday paper. The pun in “Pearls…” was so contrived it was hilarious. I clipped it also. Then I went to 3 different apartments to give parts of the paper to neighbors/friends who can’t afford to subscribe to the paper or need the coupons and the ads. The errands wore me out a bit, so I needed to take a nap.
Well our rains are not going to start until about 9 pm tonight so the day is not going to be too bad with sun in the morning and then clouding over in the afternoon. Also slightly warmer. Have to go to the doctor this morning to have our blood INR checked.
Good morning Vagabonds..Looks a little cloudy, no sun shine yet though the sun has been up for half an hour. About 26..woodworker, your forcast sounds a lot like ours..Just saw on the news, Mickey Rooney has past away, at 93..Everybody do have a good day..ttfn
Sorry, Arye, but Mickey Rooney was not in “Babes in Toyland”. The villain (Mr. Barnaby) was Ray Bolger and the toymaker was Ed Wynn, ably assisted by Tommy Kirk. That really was a Disney all-star movie at the time, it starred Annette Funicello and Tommy Sands and featured Henry Calvin and Gene Sheldon (of “Zorro” fame, Sgt. Garcia & Bernardo respectively) and the Corcoran brothers, Brian & Kevin (Moochie). Then of course there was Ann Jillian who played Bo Peep. Can you tell this was one of my favorite movies?
I was sorry to hear about Mickey Rooney, too. He made so many memorable films.
Yesterday, we went to a Las Vegas 51’s baseball game. The team mascot is an alien named Cosmo that looks an awful lot like a short, fat Jar Jar Binks. There are almost no shaded seats in that stadium, so I ended up with a sun burn. I did go into the gift shop and bought a “spirit towel” and put it on my head under my cap to shade my neck, so it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. We had a lot of fun and did all the things you are supposed to do at a baseball game, drink beer (I only had one!), eat hot dogs, leave peanut shells all over the floor, etc.
Temp was over 80 yesterday and expected to be even higher today. Still spring weather, but headed toward summer heat. That reminds me, I need to change the furnace filters again.
