in general, blowing on a fire just helps it burn hotter, despite what it does to matches and other small flames.(Grog is obviously a special case.)I read or heard a few years back where researchers at the University of Florida had discovered it was possible to put too much air on some fairly large fires and blow them out by cooling and removing the heated gases ere they ignited other fuel,(A mechanical Grog)Of course, Red Adair of the Hell Fighters used to use a variation of the same to extinguish oilwell fires using dynamite for the Maxi-Grog.
