Frankly, I don’t think God cares much about whom we canonize – or whether we ever canonize anyone. I’m all for holding up exemplary lives as role models, but that’s about it.
I thought someone might say you have to be dead first. But obviously, rules don’t mean anything anymore. In any case, that would really irritate me, since his second-last job was running the end of the Inquisition.
That’s OK. The church existed for decades before the New Testament even began to be written, and for centuries before the Bible was fully collected. So, no—not everything the Church does is in the Bible.
But then, Jesus didn’t give us a text to study so we could pass the test on our own.
