Yeah, I do too…it’s hard to stay on a diet when one makes a lot of cakes, which I dearly love to do! Today’s cake is a Georgian Pound Cake…it has 2 sticks of butter, 3 cups of sugar, 6 eggs…you get the picture! ;)

This is so true. The minute you open your mouth, everyone becomes an expert and tries to demand that you do exactly what they say!!

Diets don’t work. What works is learning a new way to eat. I try to stick to Everything In Moderation. A small piece of cake or pie once in a while.I lost 50 pounds and have had it off for almost 10 years now.

My problem is that everyone criticizes me fr being overweight when I’m actually losing a pound a week – you don’t expect me to lose 50 pounds overnight, do you?

@psychladyYes, and maybe test you with temptation, or try to sabotage, or frequently ask on your status – like New Year’s resolutions.

When people asked when our babies were due, I’d give them a date two or three weeks after the expected due date, so they wouldn’t nag me to death as the time approached. Also didn’t reveal the names we’d picked till after they were named – saved pre-birth kvetching among the relatives.

Your family has to know, they’ll see how you eat and if you change it, they’ll notice. But others you should never tell. Let them notice when you start looking thinner. It’s a lot more fun that way. If you announce it at the beginning of a weight loss program, everyone will ask how you’re doing and if you don’t stick with it, you’ll have to sheepishly say, oh well, I gave that up…
