If only this were true! The REAL problem is the LACK of cross-breeding, which has produced inbred purebreds with horrible genetic deformities. Mutts are way better in every way!! (Especially those with wings!!!)
We rescued a “Labradoodle”. She was from a puppy mill that promised her previous owner a first generation, 40 pound dog, that didn’t shed by breeding a male miniature poodle with a lady Lab….hair comes from the mother…poor thing sheds like all get out, ended up 60 pounds, thus previous owner didn’t want her anymore. FYI, long haired Labradoodles that don’t shed are from 5th or 6th generation breeding, starting with a female Standard Poodle and a male Lab Retriever. Our girl is a silly character with problem solving skills and gets along with the cat, and has been a great addition to our family.
Though it wasn’t quite this bizarre, one really strange example of cross-breeding that I ever heard of was between a Saint Bernard and a Saluki. I have no idea what the outcome looked like, and I’m not sure I’d want to know.

As long as there’s poodle mixed in, it’ll be okay.
