The functional translation of P.S. would be ā€œafterthoughtā€. In the pre-digital age of handwritten or mechanically typed correspondence, there was no way of adding new text to the body of a letter once you had signed it. If you had another thought to add, your only options were to start over or to add a ā€œpost scriptā€ to the the completed letter.

In the digital age, it is largely just a stylistic choice.

Thatā€™s not college level, thatā€™s middle school. Maybe not sixth grade, but that would be a reasonable question on an eighth grade test. Good for Mrs. Godfrey for pushing her students to achieve.

BTW, can one of you kind folks inform me of the ā€œKellyā€ summer. you know, the LAST time Nate had to do summer school? Thereā€™s something there that the G-Lady saidā€¦.something funny that really blew Nateā€™s mindā€¦but I donā€™t remember what it was. I remember her face expression (hilarious!!! She was really digging into Nate, knew it, and was thoroughly enjoying it!) and the remark started with ā€œHereā€™s a thought:ā€¦..ā€ Please folksā€¦.Glee! GLEE!!

Thatā€™s 6th grade stuff? Iā€™m in 7th, and I canā€™t do that. Mabye itā€™s because I have a c in social studies and bs in my other classes.

How are you suppose to prepare for something like that on a test? That seems like something that would be a weekā€™s assignment.

Well, it doesnā€™t specify what issue or even the time period, and we know controversy is something Nate is usually aware of, so he might do ok.
