Reminds me of a few years ago the wife and I were at the coast and rented a small motel like this. They had several rooms so we settled in. Couple hours later found out there was no hot water in the shower. Also the motel filled up, so no other rooms. The “management/new owners” offered us a coffee pot to heat water in so we could wash up. We suffered the night but requested some kind of refund. They assured us they would “make it right”. The alarm clock worked good there though….at 7 AM sharp they started cutting the hedges in front of our room with gas powered tools! ….Oh yea that was two years ago and we are still waiting for them to “make it right” with us. LOL
Louisiana inJuly, damp orange shag carpet, humidity that never let us dry out even once. Crickets inside the room driving us nuts. We were so tired we sprayed Raid behind the TV and slept in a toxic atmosphere, but never again.
Our worst one was a motel in Carlsbad, NM. We suddenly had six inches of water n the floor. It rained and Carlsbad is so flat there is no place for it to run. The whole town was flooded until it could soak through the hardpan.
“I’m not paying any more than $39 a night, any more is a rip off!” “The place was filthy and had bed bugs, I paid $39 for the night, it should be much nicer!”Typical plugger statements, before and after the motel stay. Their children told them that a nice room with a good bed will run about $79 on up, over $100 for a taste of luxury. Parents poo-pooed the children’s advice and did nothing but complain about their motel rooms.

As long as the manager’s name isn’t Norman…

I’d have reservations about staying there too.

Sometimes when you think there has to be something better down the road, you drive for miles and miles and miles then wish you had stopped.

Hey, I’d stay there, too. I like flirting with lonely plumbers.
