Calling Slim “Slim” is an obvious reference to what’s between his ears.

Could Slim be in the early stages of alzheimer’s disease?

Slim does sometimes do dumb things, but he is getting a bum rap. He does the mechanical work for the garage, and most must be right, because the garage stays open. He is put upon by family and tries his best to cope with things like giant dogs, etc. He has a good heart. He’ll help anyone in need which is sometimes his undoing. In this arc, he’ll get up, come to the theater, either fix the car or tow it in, and possibly give Skeezin and Nina a ride home. All of this will be at a reduced family rate or no charge.

Skeezix could have showed a little class and started his late call with, “Hi Slim, this is Skeezix”. People who call and assume you know who they are can be annoying.

Slim has been forgetful before, and I agree that Skeezix should have identified himself first, but I’m wondering if alzheimer’s disease is the way this arc is going. We shall see. Right now it is too early.

What? Give Slim Alzheimer’s? Oh, for the love!.After going through that with my mother-in-law, I can safely say,.There is nothing funny about Alzheimer’s!.And this is a strip that, when in the present, has great difficulties being funny. We do pretty good when GA is in the past, but the present, not so good.
