Now, just how pathetic are you when your own creation doesn’t recognize you?

Reminds me of that Family Guy episode where Peter had like three “Q” and a Batman symbol as “letters” in his guess.

Of course Larry doesn’t get it, he and the Zeeba Zeeba Eata frat members couldn’t answer it if all the letters were there. BC and Andy probably don’t want to answer because of past strips (wasn’t Andy on the opposing side in the east-west comic strip war and didn’t he get shot by Guard Duck?)

Nice to see Andy smoking his traditional cigarette (except that he doesn’t call it that).

Pastis is a good sport condescending himself in his strip. That way we can all laugh with him and not at him; he’s a genius actually.

Pastis has drawn himself beaten about the head and shoulders with blunt instruments (usually by the very blunt Rat) more than once. Not being recognized wouldn’t be nearly so painful! The arc was funny but could easily be funnier. For one thing, where is Andy’s red nose? For another, wouldn’t you have loved to have seen Larry wearing a tie so long that he got tangled up in the wheel and half-strangled?

I liked it in Fox Trot [background chatter] where there were three Qs showing, and the contestant correctly guessed “Obsequious Opaque Squid.”

Heh! Now that’s a good one.

I saw that, but I figured I was just missing some British quirk.
