As a step-father myself, I really get tired of always being the “bad guy.”

I never understood why some people marry someone who doesn’t like their children.

Even in the animal world the young fathered by another is killed. And it all depends on the mother if the kids are mistreated by the step father. My bio father had 3 other kids to deal with that he didn’t father, but he treated us all the same. But later in life he admited that he didn’t like the oldest boy. My Dad was right! That brother was the worst of the bunch, I don’t know if he is alive or dead because I keep my distance. Bad seed!

I’m glad this is opening some dialogue. Thanks for supporting the strip. I know it’s not always strictly “gag-a-day” anymore. I’m truly blessed the majority of our millions of readers like some storylines…..even if they are about imperfect lives. I also really LOVE writing the jokes! So…there will always be plenty of them, too.

My wife was abused by her birth parents and we’re still dealing with the PTSD.
