All of our dogs have quickly destroyed squeaker toys shortly after getting them, until I purchased a smooth rubber ball with two feet that is indestructible. Three generations of dogs has failed to perform an autopsy on any of them.
Removing the squeaker and stuffing seems to be SOP. We got our dog a Kong; he chased it the first two times and after that he waited until it stopped bouncing before he went after it. No dummy.
My youngest has one of those toys made out of fire hose. She hasn’t destroyed it yet but not w/o trying. Looking a bit ragged around the edges but it’s survived 3 years so far, and we’re talking about a 115 lb Lab that shreds our training suits!

We got our dog one of those “indestructible” plastic bones. Just short of a year, it was so small we worried about him swallowing it.
