Computer: We blocked a pop-up on this website!
Computer: Do you want to allow pop-ups from this website? Once? Always?
Computer: You can customize your pop-up settings in Control Panel!
I was so bugged by all the pop-ups and ads that started playing sound, I went to TopHat Aviator as my browser. You do not get pop-ups nor do any video ads start unless you click on it.
Luv, luv, LUV the notices that âYOUR COMPUTER IS UNPROTECTED!â now that our McAfee has expired. My better (tech) half doesnât seem to be worried about it, so guess I wonât be either.
Oh, I also luv the ad that comes on here and shoves everything to the right until I click âClose.â
Maybe todayâs strip is boring to some, but it hit home for me.
IE and I are again separated, due to IEâs latest âsecurity infidelityâ and I do not plan on reconciling with it again. And yes, my current browser of choice is much better about not letting annoying pop-up ads into the house.
OK, Iâll talk real slow; Arlo is frustrated because his pop-up blocker is sending repeated pop-ups. This is what we call âfunnyâ.Itâs also funny that read a strip you âusuallyâ find boring; if you donât like it, go read Nancy or Family Circus or something, & leave Mr. Johnsonâs brilliance to those of us who can get it.

This amuses me, as the gocomics website itself is loaded with pop-ups.

Yes, sometimes itâs enough to make one want to move in to a small cabin and start writing a manifesto.

Chrome here (also outside the US) â no popups.

Adblockplus is the answer.

Using Firefox with AdblockPlus works, but going Pro helps the most.
Right now my subscription is messed upâŠ. they somehow didnât credit my payment due to an ill-timed change in my card numberâŠ
and I canât believe how much I hate the set up without it.

Opera browser is the most innovative. With the Ghostery add-on, in the Ubuntu operating system, the aggravation is nearly zero.

The best thing to get rid of the ads isnât just ad block, itâs re-routing calls to Double Click (owned by Google) to Home.
