I send at least one card a week to an old out of state friend of my Mum’s since she passed. The friend is bed bound and lives in a nursing home. Family can’t get there often. I never hear back from her or the family but I can feel the smiles. It’s very much worth the effort and cost of stamps.

My wife has half a dozen pen pals. One in England, another in Japan and another in the Caribbean. Plus others right here in the good ole U.S.A.

I write to my sister. Yes, an e-mail is fast, text or call is immediate, but there’s something much more personal about a physical letter.

I really don’t like a self-adhesive stamp… I don’t have that SPIT-second to make sure it’s straight

A well written letter can become a treasured keepsake or even a family heirloom.
