I love this strip. Pope Francis is a welcome leader, bringing us back to the simple, core teachings that everyone can relate to, regardless of religion – just be good to each otehr and don’t put yourself over anyone else.
Thank you Mr. Marrin for a wonderful strip. I print it out almost every time to send to my little Catholic lady friend who doesn’t “do” computers. She adores it. It is my chance to spread the smile you always give me. Thanks again.
I was born and bred a Protestant, and I continue in that brand of faith today. As a Protestant, I love this strip! His holiness is an amazing man. (I thought so before I found this comic!) I pray he is able to continue his service in this role for a long time!
I’ve known a few people who believed that they were living sin-detectors. Funny (actually not) thing is that their “ability” never seemed to extend to detecting it in themselves…

So, is that good or bad? Or is that an oxymoron with a sin detector?

Yep, Pacobuddy has it right … and the point being no need for a scanner. :-)

Church is not a spa for the righteous. It is a hospital for sinners.
That includes the self-righteous!!!

This new strip is great, and so refreshing. Today’s is perfect, and to me reflects Pope Francis’ modest opinion of himself.

The real test would checking parishioners on their way out – after confession.

I love Francis.

It would be simple to make a sin detector: just a little tube you blow into. If you can blow into the tube, you are a sinner.

I also want to echo Ratbrat:
Church is not a spa for the righteous.
It is a hospital for sinners.
Those who object to sinners (or hypocrites) in the Church have not fully thought out what it really is for.

Yes, Francis, we are all sinners. Now, on another common matter, when are you going to say, “Women obviously should be allowed to be ordained.”?
