But of course, the comments are spot on.

The other day there was an episode so weak that I commented it “couldn’t lift up a fat amoeba.” After reading this one, I’m longing for those good old days! If a new comic team was trying to launch a new comic, and included this one in its submission portfolio, the question would be, would the editor throw the submission and the art team into the nearest canal, or into the next canal OVER?

godfreydaniel, if you have no sense of humor…why read the comics at all????

@gitanoI have an excellent sense of humor, which is why I have a huge collection of comic strip books (and the complete Mark Twain, Shakespeare, and so forth). I read “Andy Capp” for nostalgic reasons, because he was always one of my favorite characters. I read in hopes that the old verve will be there. It usually isn’t, but the classics that people post in here, and the comments they make, always make it worth the visit.
