This pretty much captures my father, as I remember him, except for the cracking knuckles. He just couldn’t abide cracking knuckles.

Growing up in a single parent household, I learned how to be a dad from my mom, uncles, etc…. Given the circumstances, I consider it a compliment when my kids roll their eyes and say, “That’s just Dad being dad.”
