I guess Papi wants to relax and enjoy watching the TV. Maybe Papi didn’t want to waste the gas to drive for Baldo, Gracie and Tia to go for their plans.
Dr. Toon, the thing you are sitting in front of ain’t much different from a television on the grand karmic scale- the main difference is that it is sort of interactive in spots. But my main observation is that Papi is usually the one lecturing the others for vegging out in front of the tube. As for myself- other than a couple of hours a week, I’m also doing something else while I am watching- internet, reading the paper, eating dinner (I live alone), etc. It is as much a fireplace to me as anything else. Flickering lights, and the illusion of other humans being present.
