Oh, Michael and Elizabeth. (Even Ellie wouldn’t like the kids wasting her yarn.)

Step #1 in lawn mowing, ALWAYS check the grass for debris. Even if you DON’T have kids. I can’t count the number of times I’ve found hazards, and I live in a nice neighborhood.

Do not use thread or string. Yarn may be okay, but stringy stuff will tangle around legs, feet, and toes. If the strangled limb starts to swell, the situation snowballs, causing amputation.

Another good story wherefrom the strip’s punch came. I love it..

I give the dog’s shedding fur to the birds, but I spread it on the flower beds, close to the twigs from the bushes…

I think that mower was in my shop last week. I had to use a side grinder to remove a 5 pound wad of melted string from a mower.

Night-Gaunt49: Thanks for Lynn’s notes. This one brought back memories of a Vancouver Sun editorial cartoonist who was one of the first to include lol humor in his cartoons. He was constantly mentioning the Acme Pewter Tuning Fork Corp Ltd, and gas station give-aways (remember those) of steel-wool thrum jars. (I had to look that one up, but always remembered it.) Len Norris is missed.
