I am not sure how Ronnie got his hand around the bottom of the couch from that position. Meanwhile, It appears that the stress has something to do with Jen, who is stoically dealing with his nonsense. It appears he is trying to avoid answering a question that Jen posed to him. He probably never will.

He deserves several words ā€“ a good chewing out, spitting out and stomping on followed by a punch on the nose and a good swift kick. And yet, after all that, heā€™d do it again and again!

The return of the ā€œDo Not Touchā€ button! I wonder what Claude would do if it said ā€œPress here.ā€

That was ECE pie that came out and smacked Claude. It was Evil Cat Excrement pie. He will never get the stink smell off.

Shhhā€¦. Iā€™m not really hereā€¦ in case you canā€™t tell.

I had some stuff to do, and then, I hate to admit, kinda slept through my comics time.

    But since Iā€™m awake nowā€¦. sighā€¦.

    Ā

Claude has never met a button he didnā€™t like.

Wellā€¦ maybe excluding the one on the waistband of his pantsā€¦

    Ā

I donā€™t think Iā€™m giving away any secrets (and if I am, sorry, Nighthawks) if I mention that this is a rerun.

The reason I bring it up is that this is at least the second time Iā€™ve seen Claude with his face dripping in (presumably cream) pieā€¦

and been struck by how much that layer of goo makes him weirdly resemble Earl Pickles.

    https://i.postimg.cc/hGLC25TM/Earl-Pickles.png

    Ā

So maybe thatā€™s how you draw Earl?

You draw Claudeā€¦ and cover his face with pie???

    Ā

Anywayā€¦ I really just wanted to stop in and say ā€œXin Nian Hao!ā€

which is more or less the Mandarin of what what Tigressy probably ā€œsaidā€ in Koreanā€¦.

    ā€œHappy New Year!ā€ā€¦

    Ā

Though Iā€™m told Chinese people are actually more likely to wish each other prosperityā€¦. ā€œGong Xi Fa Cai!ā€

And around here, thatā€™s more likely to be ā€¦. "

Gung Hei Fat Choy!" (in Cantonese)

    Take your choice.

    Ā

OK, another strange musingā€¦ ā€œchoyā€ is the word for various Chinese vegetablesā€¦ some, like bok choy, choy sum, and my favorite, yao choy, are related to cabbage.

In English, "cabbage " is quaint slang for ā€œmoney.ā€

But when you wish somebody prosperity with ā€œGung Hei Fat Choyā€ ā€¦ the word ā€œchoyā€ has a totally different meaningā€¦. not cabbage at all.

I wanted to think I discovered that the phrase translates to ā€œGet a fat pile of cabbage.ā€ But no.

    Ā

Obviously way past my bedtime, right?

    Gā€™nightā€¦.
